Dr. Lonnie Brooks
Regina Optometrist
Dr. Lonnie Brooks received his Doctor of Optometry (Honours) from the University of Waterloo in 2008. During his study, Dr. Brooks was awarded an undergraduate research grant to help develop a computerized medical record system for the School of Optometry at Waterloo. As well, at the time of his graduation, Dr. Brooks received the William Feinbloom Low Vision Award for his interest and ability in managing patients with reduced vision.
Dr. Brooks has completed an internship at the Veteran's Administration hospital in Lexington, Kentucky where he gained a great deal of experience in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, hypertensive eye disease and diabetic eye disease. While at the hospital in Kentucky, Dr. Brooks became keenly aware of the importance of early detection and management of diseases of the eye.
Dr. Brooks is a comprehensive practitioner and is interested in all areas of vision care and he accepts patients of all ages. He is an active member of both the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Saskatchewan Association of Optometrists.
Originally from Pense, Saskatchewan, Lonnie grew up on the move and has lived in most of Canada's provinces. Dr. Brooks is thrilled to be back in Saskatchewan, which he has always considered home. Lonnie enjoys golfing, fly fishing and hockey as well as occasionally getting in the way on his uncle's farm.
Dr. Brooks is proud to be able to serve the people of Regina and the surrounding areaas an eye doctor with the Eye Health Centres Lakewood office.
